Front Air Close-Out Panel

After listing out and looking at the options on the 2005 trucks, apparently they all come with this option: Front Air Close-Out Panel. What is this and what does it do? Do us 2003, 2004, and 2004. 5 owners have it?

If I understand my cab air controls, this is a door which open each time you turn the fan/blower on... it keeps out say smelly outside air when the blower is off. Mine makes a clunk each time you turn on the blower or if you start the truck with the blower already on. Kind of annoying anyway.
