Has anyone ever looked into converting our front axles in the 4x4 Ram from coil link to a true Dana 60 with manual hubs and leaf springs?

I have not heard of any real problems with the Dodge front end but I am very envious of the Ford Superduty front suspension.

Has anyone ever tryed this conversion? Does the aftermarket offer anything?

I can understand wanting manual hubs, but why would you want to change to a leaf spring suspension? I can see no benefit to eliminating the coil springs, especially not if you go off-road.

Save those springs...

I would keep those coil springs. Converting one to a leaf-spring, manual hubbed front would require some major engineering on the suspension and steering part. You might as well throw your body on a first generation frame. It would take about as much time, and would be a little more safe.

Guys, thanks for all the replys. Great photos. Those manual hubs just look to cool. The brake rotors are also outstanding.

As far as why the leaf spring question, I don't know. They are very simple and also proven. I do not go off road much.
