Help!!! Gear oil is puking out the front axle vent tube and I have no idea why. Serviced about 15000 miles ago, filled with Valvoline part Synthetic. No problems until now. No off roading just a daily driver. It sat for 7 days while I was in St. Louis on bussiness. Drove it a short distance into town today and its puking gear oil out the vent tube:{ :{ Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Tractor:confused:

I have had this same trouble in the past but it would only happen if I went a good distance. The problem was that I filled it clear up to the fill hole. It is supposed to be filled about a half inch below the plug. After I removed some fluid this never happened again.

I had this problem when i first put on the mag-hytec cover on the front, i filled it to where the instructions said to and it leaked out for about a month. I checked the level all the time and now it has stopped and the level is sitting right below the minimum line. Fro m what i have heard from other tdr members is that is simply over filled:eek:

Thanks

I have been parking it on a substantial slope lately. After locating the vent tube on the passenger side of the front axle I realized the gear oil was just piling up inside the vent tube. Parking the truck the other way has cured my problem. What rocket scientist had the vent placed half way down the tube at the end of the axle:eek:  No wonder everyone says "all" Rams do that once in a while.

Thanks for turning the light bulb on

See Ya
