Front axle shaft seals

On a '96 3500 4x4 I just replaced all the steering knuckle ballstuds on the front axle. Now, lo and behold, I've got the left (driver) side axle shaft seal leaking,---- must have bumped it. Has anyone changed out these seals themselves and how bad a job is it? Dodge wants a down payment on a new truck to replace them. I'll be replacing them both.
