Bob,

Post some pics of your axle truss :) You already have one mounted to your truck and is welded to the whole length of your axel housing. :D

Where did you get yours and who mounted it for you

POST SOME PICS

David :D

I couldn't get much help from anyone including who I bought my old suspension from( I have since upgraded to Carli )so I spent some of my hard to come by spare time and made my own. I never took any pics of it but fellow member off roader Jake took a couple. I have been hammering the truck for a quite awhile and am still smiling.

You will have to bring out your truck some day with us to see it work

Bob

Jason,

Thanks again, it looks great. The ride home was a little wet, but I only got slowed down once for a rolled over Uhaul. It feels good :D to be back in the beast and out of my dad's GMC. It's still dry up in the OC, so I was able to move the trailers around, now I'm ready for the dunes.

I will try to get some good pics of the axle in the dunes this weekend, and post them next week.

Bob,

The sand was real soft. But with my trusty shovel :-laf and a little less air, no problem.

Here are a couple of shot of the my HRC Truss.

Looks good Paul. This should bring a few more bent trucks Jasons way. It is a very time consuming project,I can tell you first hand.

Bob

Carli Suspension fabricated the work on the Desert Tank--- and its been beat, bruised and abused and no problems at all. Call them... Top photo is the backside of a Trussed Axle and the lower photo is the frontside of a Trussed Axle... Still maintaining the maximum clearance for "those" "at speed" rocks that happen my way :D

I have been waiting to see that hi clearance truss,it seems I always just miss on my timing to visit Sage. Now that he has Mike there will be more time for those custom projects.

Bob

When I was in the shop a while back I was looking the cracks in your trussed axle and said to Mike, OUCH!

Mike smiled and said no worries... your's is gonna be bad azz with that BajaMike smile... and it won't crack that Bob's has! Oo. He was right. . my has held up to the extreme abuse.

Bob---Deliver a new axle to the shop unannounced... just drop it off early one morning and don't say nothing, just smile and unload the axle with a box of Krispy Kremes...

My guess is it will stay there on the floor for a couple days and Mike and Sage will walk over it shaking their heads, they'll push it to the side and then Mike will be attracted to it like a hot blond from the Spearmint Rhino in Las Vegazzzzzzzzzzzzzzz---

He'll be joneses' on it looking at it during lunch, scheming and then all of a sudden in a few days it will be complete ready for installation... . Big smiles and fitted like a Shocker Glove

At the Baja 1000 I flew the Desert Tank farther and higher than ever before... chasing the LA County Firemen Class 11 team... towards the back half of the race after returning from the leaders who blasted through the muck at Calamajue Wash...

It was too much phun...

Leaving on Thursday for the first 07 B1K prerun from San Felipe to Loreto and back... all in the dirt!

No :{ allowed... running hard the entire time!

:D

They are not strong enough... ... . I broke those on my little 1/2 ton many years ago. The american 9. 25 has way too many brackets to be able to use that type of truss.

Bob

I had one on a D60 in my 1999... I don't see how bolting one to a 9. 25AAM would be any different since they don't have any more brackets.

But I agree, they are more for show that support.

Nice to see you posting on TDR again.

I was wondering what the "shocker" hand sign stands for?

Look again... ... ... ..... a leaf sprung Dana has nothing in the way,the 9. 25 is thick with brackets under the tubes.

I have looked... I would have reused my D60F's truss had the saddle been the same... It would have fit fine if the saddle would have fit the contour of the diff.

Run a straight edge from the c on the long side to under the pumpkin, you will have to cut through brackets ;) also very close on the short side.

Bob

This is my truss, there are a few like it, but this one is mine, I will not fly without it. All for 6 Bills, No dissasembly Required. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. :D :D :D
