How long have yours lasted?

What are you replacing them with?

My front right one is squeaking bad.

Luckily I just got home from a 3,800 mile trip when it started squeaking.

Mine were replaced at 49,000 when the driveshaft joints went bad they replaced them all under warranty they used OEM joints they replaced the complete front axle & joint.

I just replaced them again at 90,000 with Percision # 464's greasable. Left side was bad on 2 ends

Can't help you there, my buddy that's a mechanic did them for me.

But he did say they were a bugger to get apart.

Easy job, no parts required other than the replacement joints.

That's assuming your hub/bearing assemblies can be removed.

120k r side went did both with spicer

a big 3 jaw posi lock puller works to free a hub btw had a smoked hub assembly at same time NAPA $250

I just tried putting in a precision 464 and it did not fit correctly. It was too wide to get the snap rings in place.

Really? I had that same problem with my rear axle U-Joints. I had to put the snap rings on the surface grinder and grind . 010 off of them.

I think maybe I should get spicers instead.

So I called Six States.

They use a Neapco joint in the front axle. Are they any good?

I am thinking about just bringing my axle shafts and rear driveline to them and having all the joints replaced.

It's a good time, I can do without my truck for a week or so.

How do you know a hub is bad? Noise or looseness?

the ones ive had go bad:

the tire bout fell off the truck and no brakes (pad beat open from slop) for 3 pumps on mtn. hwy:eek: there were probably signs but i missed them

high pitched intermittent squeel

slop/play when jacked up and tire is push/pulled top and bottom

i'd just check them dont just relpace them i had 1 truck go 260k before one went bad they are an easy replacement once they have been out. 1 hr on srw 1. 5hr on drw just remember ANTI-SIEZE IS YOUR FRIEND mainly on the hub assembly and rotor but it does not hurt to have everywhere

:-laf Only if you live in AZ!

As you saw in my other thread, sometimes it takes a bit of force to remove them. I figure mine must've taken well over 15 tons to remove. #@$%!

Here's a link to the original thread on mine. It shows the tools I had to make in order to remove the passenger side and avoid using TNT.
