Front axle u joints

It's time to replace the front axle u joints on my signature truck and while I haven't decided as of yet whether I will install a free wheel kit for the font hubs, my question is how difficult is it to get the hubs out? Whether I replace just the Ujoint or go with a free wheel hub I will have to pull the old hub. In my research I've seen all kinds of different ways to get them out. Just curious if any of you have ever done this yourself and what tricks you may have learned.
