Transmission back together and its running much better. I am a little puzzled - took out 11 quarts of AFT during the disassembly process but it is close to the full line after putting 8 quarts back in. Started the engine and moved the shifter through the gears while warming it up. Checked the fluid while running and it was close to the full line - may need one more quart. Took it out for a short test drive and it was still at the same level when I came back.

Using the pull wire was helpful - I had no problem getting the band in twice and out once - put it in the wrong way the first time and it didn't have proper clearance with the front of the transmission case. The slip-in band made it very easy - Thanks Cerb.

Keep an eye on the level, it took 150 miles to work the air out of mine after adding a bypass filter. A very long time to me
