front brake inspection for wear

I am trying to determine how much the front brake winnings can worn before replacement.

Welcome to the TDR! Sometimes you can see the pads with the usual alloy wheels we have, but if you have a model with the steel wheels, or to correctly check both sides and inner and outer pads, the wheels should come off. I don't know your level of mechanical ability, but since most pads are bonded, and rivets are usually not a concern, I would pull them at the thickness of a nickel. In any case before metal meets metal.

Recommendation The minimum lining thickness (above the back plate) 1.5mm. Back plate thickness 6.07mm nominal. Shim thickness (if used) 1.209mm nominal. Total minimum brake pad thickness 8.462mm min. Total brake pad thickness (new) 19.7mm nominal.

I would not push my truck beyond maybe 3mm
