Front Brake Lock

I could have swore I read about a way to wire a switch to lock up the front brakes. However, I have searched and found no such animal. I am interested in this due to the fact that I use a pair of "hand controls" to drive with (paralyzed from a Rodeo accident). This would be a handy feature for stopping in traffic and setting in the drive through lane. Any help would be greatly appreciated, at least let me know that I wasn't dreaming anyway. I think the product you're looking for is a "line-lock" or "roll-control"

I think Hurst used to make them.

Hurst makes the roll control. I have used them in my race cars and on my rock crawler Jeep. B&M will make one as well. Any speed shop will be able to hook you up. Happy smoke making

I do have a TCI roll control on my truck although for different reasons than yours (mines on there for burnouts and staging at the dragstrip). Mine is hooked up to a momentary switch that's on my shifter as opposed to a toggle. The biggest problem that I think you'd have is that they state that it's not for continuous use - they state a maximum of 1 minute of use at a time (don't remember if they state a cool down time). Also, if you have 4 wheel ABS brakes then I think you may need to use two roll control solenoids. I have rear wheel ABS only so I didn't have to worry about that. With 4 wheel ABS I believe there are seperate outputs from the ABS controller for each front brake (that's just from looking at friends trucks) so that would mean you'd need one for each front brake, although for your use you may be able to put it on just one side and be ok - in my case I'd be doing donuts around that tire . It cost me about $120 total forl my roll control, I bought the roll control along with a Hurst install kit through Jegs. I found a local garage that had the flare tools for the lines and I had the line bending tool and cutter. I cut and bent the lines in their parking lot, then had them put the flares on the lines and then I bled the brakes again in their parking lot.

There is a company that has been around for a while and they specialize in hydraulic brake locks. I believe the company name is "MICO". You can reach them @ 507-625-6426 or in california @ 909-947-4077. The company I work for installs them on some of the big work trucks... hope this helps.
