On average what are most of you getting for front brake pad life. I know there are a lot of variables, like towing, terrain, etc. I am curious though My 94 2500 4x4 would normally need replaced at 50,000 miles (in PA) Now my 99 needs them at 35000 miles and I am driving in the flatlands. ?????

About 60% of my driving is hiway, I got 80k out of the original pads & tires, & they still had some left, have 120k on the original rear shoes, & they're about ready to change if the weather ever warms up! (-17 in Lawrence, Ks this morning!)

Lock up switch.

I just did a brake job. There was 100K on the front pads. I drive mostly highway, but a lot of it is steep and crooked. My PakBrake takes care of the slowing on hills and curves.

Consider yourselfs fortunate... I have only gotton 25k out of each set... 50+k miles on now. Each time I replace them they are worn right down to nothing. . and I mean nothing.

I have 94K on my front and rear brakes right now and it's almost time for fronts but the rear should go to 150K. Now I am on my 3rd set of tires. #ad

Got 42000 on mine, the inner pads were gone but the outers had about half the lining left. My mileage is about half towing, all on hwy. bg

Just like the tires and shocks, the OE brake pads suck. You will find aftermarket parts far superior to OE. . remember: the factory is trying to shave every 1/4cent off each unit that they can! I love my Performance Friction pads and racing brake fluid!

My Performance Friction pads from Autozone last forever #ad
They now put a big chamfer on them to avoid squealing and they will wear out more quickly, perhaps in 20,000 or 25,000 miles of heavy city driving. Obviously, highway driving which involves little braking will extend their mileage a lot. Doesn't matter. In just a few minutes of quality time with my Ram, I can put on a new set free of charge. Lifetime warranty!

always adj the rears , keep them up

fronts will go 100k if u take care of the
rears too,

My 99 auto has 36,000 on pads and looks like it can go 10-15 more. My 96 is up to 30,000 per set now-started out with 6,400 and 5,900 with the dealer fixing. Tires on the 99 were just replaced(factory Michelins) at 35,000. My 96 has never got more than 35,000 out of a set-anybodies set.
