just curious how long i can expect these to last? have about 2000mi on my truck and they are leaving a lot of dust on the front wheels.

thanks.

scott.

I washed my truck yesterday and noticed that I had a lot of dust on the left wheel and almost no dust on the right wheel. There is no pulling from one side to the other. I can slowly or rapidly stop and have no pulling what so ever.

What is up with this?

TIA

steve

On my second gen's without an exhaust brake I got around 50K max before replacing them (paper thin at 50K). On my Y2K I got 112k before replacing using a Jacobs exhaust brake for the entire life of the truck. My driving was combined city/highway (50/50). I live and travel between 4000 feet above sea level and 7000 feet almost every day.

I don't know how long they will last on the 3rd gen, still waiting to find out. :)

I have 18K on mine and tow 6000 in the mountains. Based on what is left looks like 75K will be the change out point for me.

33,000 on mine and I need new pads, did a search and have not found any info on good replacement pads might go OEM as they seemed to work pretty good and is a known quanity.

Big diff depending on auto, manual and driving style. Downshifting with manual and will make the brakes go a long time, of course the clutch won't go as long.

I weighed using the clutch to make the brake pads last longer, but the clutch is more expensive to replace, so I wear the brakes more. I can replace brake pads.
