I just replaced the OEM front pads at 80K and notice that the inside pads are nearly as new while the outside pads are heavily worn. Whassup?

I also have a severe wear problem with my Coopers where the mildly aggressive knobby tread is wearing very uneven from one knob to the neighboring one. The book says imbalance but I am experiencing no bounce or vibration... Whassup?

Can't answer the brake problem I've seen this on quite a few vehicles, just one of those things, as for your tire wear problem it sounds like they haven't been rotated enough, it sounds like cupping? maybe a bit of an alignment thing. I had this problem on slightly aggressive tires and I made sure I rotated often to the opposite side of the vehicle so they turned the opposite way, seemed to help it wear evenly?

I grease my caliper pins EVERY oil change. When I replaced the original pins I polished these with crocus cloth. I also smoothed the slide surfaces on the caliper mounts with a file. I use the black silicone grease brake lube from NAPA. My pads are wearing much more even. Still not exactly balanced, but a lot better.

Every oil change for me also

A note on Joe's good advice - the pins can be cleaned and greased without removing anything except the pin, you don't even need to jack the truck. Just remove and service one pin at a time.

Thanks guys for the info... . I thought I may have a problem... well... I do! Me! I will do as suggested... remove the pins one at a time and clean/smooth/lube them before my big trip this summer. BTW... . you should've seen the look on the tow truck drivers face when I blew past him on SR 89 into Flagstaff... a 6%er... as he was carrying a minivan and I was towing a 24' boat with a 2500+lb camper aboard..... He was in a Furd 650 PSD. Let's hear it for Edge Comp on 3/5... Oo.
