Howdy,

Sorry If this is an old topic, but I couldn't really get a clear answer from the archives.

At school for brake class we are planning on doing a front brake job on a 2001 3500 4wd, and I really would like to know the specifics on the rotor removal and spec's on bolt torques etc. . Thanks Alot.

Steve

The rotors on my 01. 5 are not part of the hub assembly. Remove the caliper/pads. Pull the caliper hanger and off they come. The 1 ton wheel plates are removable, my guess for them is about 115 ft/lbs

Torque is for head bolts and transmission bands... . :) I really can't help you there.

Thanks,

Does all the 2001 year model rotors on 3500's come off like that? No mid year changes? I just want to make sure before we take it all apart, we're kinda limited on the time we have getting parts and such.

Steve

Pull a wheel and have a look-see. 5 min of labor. The brakes are so easy to change. Wish a 1 ton owner would step up to the plate for you.

This was implemented model year 2000 on 2500's & 3500's. This is documented near the middle of this page on the great Dave Fritz site.
