Front Bumper Cover

Did Dodge make a black bumper cover/fascia for the early sports trucks (with out sports bumper)? It is the gray lower cover/fascia on non sports trucks. Does it come in black with out having to paint it?

I belive the cover for the sport trucks covers the entire bumper, including the chrome.

I don't believe the early, pre 99 or 00 had the full bumper cover. Did the gray bottom plastic fascia on the chrome bumper ever come in black plastic?

I'm pretty sure even the pre-99 sports had an entire bumper cover. If I'm wrong please let me know, as I would like to buy one in red.

Buddys sport 2500 club cab at work does not have a full cover. Looks like a painted bumper with the top part being black plastic just like my 99 bumper. It has the white grille and painted white bumper. I was wanting to do this to mine but realized that the full cover was the norm for my year of truck... dont want it to look older than it is.



I keep forgetting but I think his is a 96 or 97 model year.

sport bumper

The '98 and newer sport bumper is totally different from the non-sports, And it does cover the whole thing. Until today, I would have told you that they were all body colored but I saw one that looked like it was charcoal grey on a white truck don't know if it was a replacement that hadn't been painted or if it was an odd ball.

I have a '98. 5 Black Sport (pre '99 front end styling change). I can absolutely assure you that the lower bumper fascia that is normally gray on SLTs is in fact Black throughout on my Ram. That is, it is made of black plastic (NOT painted).



I drilled through it to mount my Kenworth block heater recptical.

Thanks John. That is what I wanted to know. I now just need the part number. Are the cut outs in the bumper where the fog lights live black plastic also?
