Off Roading Carli Suspension Race Truck

I don't really want to go with the big grill type of winch bumpers and today I saw what looked like a perfect setup, it was a molded metal extension that brought the front bumper out about 3" and had a winch tray inside. It was on a ford, and despite me looking, I couldn't see any manufacturer information, but it definitely was molded metal and not a custom one-off. Does anyone know who makes these and if you can get them for our trucks?

I received a response from Warn:

Thank you for your interest in Warn products. Warn only offers the Trans4mer winch mounting kit and Heavy Duty Bumper for your application. The hidden winch mounting kit is not available for your vehicle. However, I will be happy to pass along your request to our design team.

Guess I'll have to build my own if I want one. Thanks for the help in tracking it down.

I have a front reciever hitch and a setup by Warn that houses a 9k winch and mounts in the reciever at either end of the truck. It has been really handy at times and keeps the extra weight off the front of mt truck the 95% of the time when I don't need the winch. The only bummer is fetching the winch and mount out of the truck bed when I need it. With the mount and 125 feet of cable it weights close to a hundred pounds.

Winch Ready Bumpers

Another option might be Winch Ready Bumper's offerings. They stock an aftermarket bumper without grill guard that is lighter than the competition. It doesn't appear to stickout much farther than necessary to accomodate the winch. Winch Ready

I've got a Reunel winch bumper on mine. Massive bumper, but the way they mounted it kinda' sucks. Their mount holes are slotted... . on the first HEAVY winch pull at a downward angle, the darn thing rolled on its' bolts and dimpled the front fenders on both sides. #@$%! I was not impressed. Their whole customer service sucks in my opinion. Now I need to modify this thing to work right.

So now my question to you guys... . Can our frames be welded on? I thought about double plating the mount locations on both frame and bumper so that I'd have round holes for the mounting bolts instead of slots. What do you think?

I went with a Road Armor aftermarket front bumper, the Winch Ready appears to be just about identical to the Road Armor.

I did all the searching, phone calls, etc looking for a winch setup for our trucks, no one makes anything that would be hidden or like the PW setup. All of the companies told me the same thing - our engines set more forward/longer block, add the intercooler and condenser, just no place to find room up/inside the remaining space, go with an aftermarket winch bumper. Of course I did get one guy who told me jokingly 'You should have got a Hemi . . Powerwagon '
