Well,
Finally had a few days to burn and install the front bumper and winch that have been sitting on a pallet here. Fab Fours with full grill guard and a Warn 16. 5k winch, That left me with the silly "pizza cutter" stock Michelin tires. I wanted to go the 19. 5 route but not ready to dump $3k+ with Rickson. After going over the forum I decided to go with the Toyo Open Country AT 285/75-17E, I had the same on my 06 QC but they were a 285/70. I've only got 15 miles on them now but on the 24th I'm headed to Tahoe... . Right through a big storm. Next break I get... ... . The Carli stuff is going on Oo. . Now I have to fiddle with the Smarty to set the right tire height, Anyone have the magic numbers? Here's a few pictures.

Last ones... . The 285/75-17's really fill out the wheel wells perfectly, What was Dodge thinking with the wimpy stockers

When I adjusted my Smarty Jr. for tire size, 285/70-17, I put in the tire spec provided by Nitto. I then used a GPS to compare the speedo. It was off by at least 3 mph. Took me three tries to get it right, but it's dead on accurate now. Good luck!

I had those exact tires. Try 33. 2". That dialed it right in with my GPS. Odometer and speedometer were right on. Sounds low but it worked.

My exact question!!!!!

Mac:cool:

The rear bumper is 120lbs and the front is 260lbs plus another 138lbs for the winch. I'm going to ditch the 90ft of 7/16" steel cable on the winch to shed about 45lbs... To be replaced with Superline XD synthetic winch rope (26,000lb rated and only a mere 8lbs for 85 feet of it). As for the ride, It feels the same. . No additional body roll or excessive diving while braking. The new tires also make a huge difference. Thanks for all the thanks and comments!

Nice looking tires. I will be looking for something with less agressive lugs when I need replacements. Are your tires rated for a 3500 and does anyone know how well they work in the snow?

Nice lookin truck. I am on my second set of Toyo At's and I love em. Great in the snow and ice. I got 48k out of my first set but had legal tread left on them when I put on the second set because winter was setting in. Also they ride smooth and quiet. I did rotations at 5k and run them at 60psi. They wore pefect and even.

The A/T's are not really that aggressive, They are great in the snow as my last rig had 285/70 A/T's... . They are so good that I am driving up to Tahoe tonight where they are expecting 18+ inches as a major storm is pounding us here in NorCal.

Yes, they're rated almost 500 lbs higher (they are one of the few, true 10 ply tires) than the stock Mich's but they have a lot better grip.
