Anybody hung a 300lb+ winch bumper on the front end and experienced problems with the driving characteristics of the truck?

Thinking about getting a Reunel... ... .

Gary

Hey GaryG!

I know that Reunel make a quality bumper and they are Heavy Duty (and just plain heavy)!

Have you looked into the Aluminum "Denver Off Road" bumpers that EarthRoamner and other TDR members have puchased? There considerably lighter but have much of the same strength properties as the steel bumpers.

I talked to "Lane"... . Owner of Denver Off Road a few months back and he said that his coated bumper for our First Generation would run between $1500. 00 - $1600. 00.

He mentioned that if we could get a few First Generation Brothers together for a "group purchase" - He could cut us a price break.

Just another option.....

I have a big a$$ bumper on the front of my '92. I don’t know how much it weighs, but I can't pick it up by myself. It was on the pickup when I bought it so I don't know what the difference is. It seems to ride and handle fine. Oh, it also has an add-a-leaf on the front-end, so that probably helps.

I've got the reunell front bumper on my 93, with a 12,000 warn

jack and lights, no problems, i'm running 2 1/2 in front prings

they only compressed 1/2" when the bumper was bolted on... ... ... ... . Rick

Bumper will look mighty fine from the front but kinda too much from the side. But with lots of extra leaves and heavy duty shocks my truck rides and drives well. And the winch has been useful a few times.
