which would you get and why? pros and cons only please.....

Denver Offroad! Just my 2 cents.

I think you would need new front springs for either of these two bumpers. They do add appx. 400 extra pound to the front.

But if I had to choose I would go with the Road Armor. Fit and finish can't be beat!

Be very carefull doing business with road armor. I have ordered "rock sliders" from them paid them and never got the product. When I tried to call never got through. Must have had me on caller ID. 875$ down the tubes. He is clear across the country so it is not worth the effort to sue. I figured I would just present the facts on the web anytime anyone talks about ordering from him. The only way to do business with slibebags like that is cash on delivery. This is not a disagreement about fit- finish or quality. This man is a thief and I have a cancelled check, and no product to prove it. Go with RUENEL or PRO-ZAP

i said REUNEL or ROAD ARMOR!... . you know what i think of that thing... but is the brush guard an option???... and layne's lead time is just WAAAYYY too much..... and i have the snowplow prep... would i still need springs?

Pete... Check into small claims court at your local courthouse. The transaction was completed in your area and he may have to come to you.

Sorry Tim, Just joshin ya :-laf

I have heard about those problems with Road Armor. How long ago was it? What I heard was that they were having problems (like Peter described) then they went out of business (bankruptcy) then was purchased by a large truck accessories firm (or something like that) that started producing thier product again.

IMHO It is a tie for me of what to pick. I have the Reunel Rear bumper and I like it. If your getting the bumper without the grill guard, I think the Reunel would be cool. But that R. A. is cool:cool: too...

It was a while ago. The order was placed months in advance of the 1999 TDR event in columbus. So I probably have lapsed any rights of legal complaint. I was too busy on MAX overtime to persue it. This was for my 1998. 5 truck. If they actually reorganized and got rid of the thief, then it might be good to give them a call. I may know why they bought the name. When the guy built stuff it was good. As I said it was not a fit and finish issue it was a business issue. I will contact them again. If the thief has been terminated then I don't have any isssue with them. OBTW just checked thier website. It now looks like a more mature company. Designs are sharp, and the "odd" products are gone ( exterior tube frames). Looks like they now specialize in very good bumpers.

I had a buddy that had one of those ugly jeep tops they used to make ordered at the time of the big problem. The guys he delt with tried there darndest to get him a top. They finally did it by going to the yard one night and basically stealing a top for him. They actually did the final finish work somwhere else and shipped it to AK. I am guessing that there was just one bad guy and a bunch of really good welders/designers.

I've purchased the carbon steel Reunel and, while I am completely satisfied with their product, I am intrigued with the almost identical product manufactured by Denver Off-Road. It's an aluminum model with similar winch capacities, similar appearances, and an almost 200# weight savings. My front end sagged over an inch once the massive Reunel was installed. Installation was a breeze!

tntway,

First of all I'm a new member. Second please excuse my caps. i am used to writing in all caps. i have the reunel w/ 12000# warn.

verrry heavy but awsome. I would suggest the 'd"-ring up-grade for anchor points while winching. (remember our trucks are heavy and doubling or tripling w/blocks is a good idea). install was easy but makesure you have a commercial jack or at least a couple large garage/floor jacks.

If you put the Reunel and the Denver offroad side by side, I have found some distinct differences actually.

The Reunel front section is actually 4 inches wider vertically so it sits down lower to the ground Appx 4". Some people have commented that my bumper looks too high. You can actually see (easiliy) the front brace between the 2 frame rails. This is not real evident in the picture but when Straight6Jeff and I compared side by side they're were some differences. (besides the weight ;) )

Road Armor has a bad name amongst Jeepers as well, for expensive yet poor fitting products, and horrible customer service.

ARB now makes a Dodge Bumper

Dont know much about the other guys bumpers, but I saw at Moab eastern Jeep Safari that ARB is now making bumpers for Doge Rams.

Its a pretty sweet bumper, if you know what ARB bumpers look like you wont be displeased. Price is supposed to be somewhere comparable to what you guys are talking about on the other guys.

It does look nice and its not too spendy. I just wish it had some protection for front fenders.
