Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Front cover gasket replacement?

Is it required to remove everything to change this gasket?(bumper, intercooler, etc)



Can you fix the dowel pin without removing everything?



I'm excited! Buying my first 12v(2nd gen) tonight!

All you have to remove is the fan shroud and the fan to get to the few other things you need to remove. Where in east TX are you? If you want to make the trip to Killeen I'd be glad to help. I've done this particular job twice.

Yeah it's not that tough to get to with the shroud and fan removed.

I just got through tabbing my KDP and the TST instructions with their kit was excellent. I removed my fan by removing the mount bolts, not by removing the fan from the mount. There is one bolt that you can't get to with a regular box end wrench, but I finally got to use one of the obscure "ignition" wrenches that came with my Craftsman tool set. It is a small, thin combination 9MM open-10MM box end wrench that went right in there and got the job done.

I used the TST tab kit on my 97 and . . Yes. . TST instructions were very good and detailed. I also removed the fan mount bolts instead of removing the fan and it worked great.



Wiredawg: I used the TST tab kit for a friends 93 but I had to grind it into a teardrop shape to get the tab to seat against the dowel pin. I had a thread with pics if you need to do it.
