It is a wierd looking seal, the big black lip in toward the oil and the yellow lip out toward the dirt. Just be careful not to slip with the alignment tool and hit it hard with the lip of the tool on the yellow teflon like seal. It craters it pretty well. I took the gear cover back off and used a press. Slick as a whistle as long as the gear cover gasket doesn't leak. I would have had to wait 2 days for a new gasket so I just put a little gasket sealer on the one I had just installed and reused it. Impatience, I hope it doesn't bite me on this one.
