Wife caught that mine was making noise ( i couldnt hear it) so I pulled the shaft and time for a rebuild. Anyone have any pics or a procedure that works best for doing them? I have rebuilt old Ford Bronco driveshafts, but this appears to be a little differetnt. Also, can I get greaseable joints. PO said he repaced the joints with greaseable ones, but I see no zerks like my old broncos have. It does have external clips on the joint. Not sure if theis os factory or not. The front joint has internal clips with the plastic in the yoke. Is there a special tool to get the front bolts loose? I used a small Torx head allen wrench looking set to get broke loose. It almost seems like a "wobble" end torx would be great for it.

Thanks in advance for the help

From the research I have done I would stick with OE non-greasable joints. Non-greasable joints are stronger and have better seals. A greasable joint can last longer but takes a lot more maintenance. It wasn't so much the maintenance that made me go back to sealed as the strength.

As for a rebuilt kit I am not aware of one. Do you have a local driveline shop?

Have you been greasing the center joint?

No grease anywhere. I didnt see a zerk for the center either.

We have a shop, but I thought I'd do it and save some $$

The center bearing does not use a zerk it needs to be greased with a needle, and is a major PITA.

AH...thanks for the picture. That makes it all clear now. I could see where a blunt end probe would work good on that. CAn the U joints themselves be replaced with greasable joints? Good place to purchase? dont mind spending themoney on good stuff made here

Deaner70: reason I asked was to see how close to San Antonio TX you are. I had my front shaft rebuilt by Driveshaft Specialist of TX, in San Antone, a few months back with greasable u-joints and a greasable cardan joint too. I'm very pleased with their work and especially their customer service.
