The vent hose off of the front differential is belching gear oil all the way up by the air intake. Anyone have previous experience with this problem. Any and all replies are much appreciated.

Usually, that means its getting hot. Change the fluid out and look things over real well while you have it apart. I like good synthetics in my diffs.

I have had that happen a few times over the years. For me it has only happened when I was in 4 wheel at relatively high speed (50mph or so)for long distance.

Don't worry about it if it's just a teaspoon or so. This has happened on my truck about once a year since new. Switching to synthetic oil made no difference. Consider it a anti rust 'feature' of our trucks.

Mine did that last year camping I parked on a small incline with the passenger side on the low side, I think it sat over night and some fluid was in the vent tube so when I drove it it forced it up and out. It also did it two weeks ago after the same angle on a steep boat ramp. Plus a small amount of that oil makes a big mess like there was a lot of oil.

That's exactly how my truck was parked, passenger side low, slightly off level. I guess my fender won't be rusting anytime soon. Just the same it's about time I switched to synthetic in the front anyway. Thanks so much for the quick responses.
