This trick works on everything with drum brakes. I can't beleive that I never heard of it before I read it in here.

I'm with on the never cease too... ..... I have found that it is actually, quicker and cheaper, with longer up time if I do all the repairs myself as opposed to sending the truck to someone else. Most just don't seem to care if it is done correctly.

I adjusted the rear brakes this past weekend, the truck stops much better now. Unfortunately the pass side axle seal has a leak.

Anyone know how hard the rear axle seals are to replace?

Thanks

They are really easy. Should take about 1 hour per side if you take your time and have air tools. If you need step by step instructions, let me know.

Thanks BWilson, I will get in touch when I decide to tackle them. For now I'm happy to have the rears helping me stop again.

I replaced my front brakes with the EGR SLotted rotors and Carbon Kevlar pads.

I have noticed a marked improvement in the performance of the brakes. The slotted rotors lets the pads release the gasses created when brakeing. this helps cool it and prevent cracks. .

I bought the slotted and they do have slotted and crodddrilled but was informed that the drilled wouldn't help much more than slotted alone.

I didn't quite having service brake problems on either 99 Ram 3500 or F350 until I added exhaust brakes to each. But, then, I do alot of towing. Makes a big difference then.

Cheers,

Steve J.
