I changed all 3 rear U-joints last week. And since i was fixin to have my 3rd front pinion seal put on :--) I figured i would have the front driveshaft rebalanced.
The first 2 pinion seals were installed under warranty. My 5 star said " OHHH you just got some trash in there that tore it up!" Well, since 100% of this one is coming out of my pocket I DECIDED TO SOME INVESTIGATING!!! 1st if anyone has a tool that will help remove the front part of the shaft from the differential please inform me. After i got the shaft off all the U-joints looked good but I found that the knuckle that connects the 2 U-joints in the front of the transfer case was cracked. and it appears to be an OLD CRACK!!!! Any of you have one of these knuckles crack? i am waiting to find out the cost as we speak.
PS It was rumored that removing th front driveshaft would take out any vibrations i was having at highway speed. Well the vibs are still there!
