Okay I pulled some stumps a few weeks ago and the other day I rolled my window down to let some of the Tx heat out and I could here my passenger side going... okay now listen...

Clu-Tunk, Clu-Tunk, Clu-Tunk.....

It is certainly the speed of the tire rotation and seems to be in the front. I had the tires turned on some gentle tugging...

Did this cause my U-Joint to go out???

Did some searching but found no Identifying sounds. Imagine that !!!

What do say... U-Joint ?????

Drive shaft or Front axle ?????

Sounds like the front axle u-joint to me. I've heard that sound before. :) Reach up in the knuckle and try to wiggle them. If it's making that noise, you'll probably be able to see or feel the play in it.

I can count on one hand the times I have used 4 Wheel Drive. But pulling stumps is the first time I've ever "needed" to use it. And you cannot hear it inside the cab / windows up.

I know it has that "center cap sound" and that is what makes me think it is the U-joint.

From what I've read sounds like something I can handle. I have done the U-joint on a drive shaft before. :)
