Shop manual explained how to determine optimum caster angle by measuring to ground from reference points on front frame and rear spring hanger bolt, then subtract rear from front each side (or visa/versa), then average the sides, then use this figure to determine optimum caster with a chart in the alignment section of the manual. So, the figure lands at about 5. 19 degrees. This figure was off the chart and I had to determine percentage of each degree to figure out - I don't have the manual in front of me now but I think the chart topped out a 4. 25 degrees.

Now for the question: How the heck do I determine the present degree @ cam washer, how many notches (9 total) to move cam washer to - to achieve about 5 degrees and which way (to front or to rear) to move the cam bolt/washer?

Presently the arrow on the cam is one mark forward of top/center hash mark.

I'm not sure , but I thought it was issue #52 that had a article about doing alinement's and gave different spec. s for a truck tha ran around at least partially loaded most of the time .
