One more if I may. My front end hops w/ the hubs in and no power to it. In other words it feels like I'm in 4high w/ the hubs in on dry pavement - but I'm really in 2 high w/ the hubs in and it doesn't matter if I'm on snow/ice or dry road. Also it doesn't always do this but does seem to always do it when I first put the hubs in.

Thanks much,

Ujoints?

I would check the Ujoints in the front axle if your getting a hop and or binding with hubs locked but with Tcase in 2wd. A quick check would be to just see if you can move them with your hands (up, down, forward, back like a drivline ujoint), or maybe a larger screwdriver to check for play. Or you could unlock the hubs, and see how easy they turn, if they are making the front end hop, you will probably know right away if something is wrong with them..... Good luck

The front axle U-joints would be my first suspect also. My front end did the same thing and even though the axle u-joints appeared to be OK by the screwdriver check, they were catching. I pulled the axles and had new greasable U-joints put on. The rig now runs much smoother in 4WD.
