this may be of interest for those with a G2 Cummins—I am completing the rebuild of the front axle: new ball joints (warranty repl of Moogs that lasted 160K) hubs and rotors, new cross shaft u-joints, new tie rods (drag link was in fact ok as I suspected). The ball joints were toast. The ORIGINAL tie rod ends (nearly 250K), also severely gone. The ORIGINAL OEM hub/rotors: no noticeable play/noise off the truck—they're out anyway). The ORIGINAL cross shaft u-joints were ok—rumor has it they planned to go south when its 15° in January. My point (if I have one after 16 hours behind the wrenches): I am impressed with how much of the OEM hardware lasted FOR ME that long. Does Ferd do that?? Lesson I learned: the ball joint tool is a wicked extractor for u-joints too—way too cool!!

Yeah, I did the same rebuild but didn't replace the axle seals... a little risky but only a very slight seep on the drivers side so far. Hopefully it will quit soon. Sure don't want to tear everything apart again just for that.
