Hi,
Rex McKinney here with a 1995 2500 all stock TDR that has a worn out steering.
Looks like Detroit Axle can get all tie rod ends, linkage ball joints and steering box for $365.00
Any bad experiences with Detroit axle.
I just did my entire front end.
I can honestly say, @ 145K miles my ball joints could have easily made 200K. (I added zerks when it was new and greased it every oil change.) EASILY!
With all the labor involved, 20/20 hindsight I'd buy NOTHING OTHER than Mopar parts. jm.02
I'm third owner,175000 without grease zirts.
I should had added zirts when i got truck(2002). Ran so good i did not think about greasing ball joints until to late!
I won't forget that again.
I faught my steering for years. Synergy finally came out with one. $900 for tie rod l, drag link, and Fox steering stabilizer. Everything is huge! They are redesigned to reduce tie rod flop that causes the dead spot in the middle. Very expensive, but my truck is way better than new.
Like stated above, I would not cut corners on anything as labor intensive as ball joints either.
