Hey you guys, get a room! :D

Well, apparently the bolt fell out of my torsion bar. DM wins the clairvoyance award.

That would explain the goofy steering limping home. So one bolt (under warranty) and I'm back on the road.

Had them check a transmission leak while it was in and turns out it's the seal around the rear yolk. Waiting on that part to come in, should have it back on Friday Oo.

Duck - you must mean the track bar, the sway bar(torsion bar) does nothing for the suspension stability, mines been broken twice now.

BTW, My rear yoke is showing signs of an imminent leak too, the rubber boot/wiper is showing a crack around it.

Now you know what a torque wrench is for!:)

Where did you take the truck? Did they give you any s**t for the spacer, you are after all, to blame for this horrible oversight. :D

Is this the same story you told your wife or do you have a better one for her  , she doesnt know the facts, yet, does she? We'll cover for you if needed;)

CityRam, I like the way you are thinking... ... ...

We are going to try a lease this time, but will most likely buy it out mid term after some more bills are gone... ... . BUT... ... . The dealer is now recommending going DC financial instead of another bank that is available (4 years (DC) rather than 5 yr lease (Bank)). . DC is about $60. 00 more per month, but 1 year less lease...

It's called a FLEECE around here.

The service advisor said torsion bar, but I'll ask the tech when I pick it up. Stay Tooned.

They were "all right" about the spacer lift. At first, "it looks like it happened while installing the lift" and acted like they weren't going to cover it, but then said they were taking care of it under warranty. They really couldn't prove who left it loose, so...

I'll wait and see to find out which bolt rattled off and if it was one we even touched. I'm not yet ruling out that it could have been loose from the factory. I do know that it took 8 months for it to finally fall out, no matter who was to blame.

Torque wrench? What's that? Ya, ya.

Pretty hard to hide a screw up of this magnitude, especially since she was with me when the front end starting bouncing off the highway like a clown car. No cover up necessary this time. ;)

Live and learn I guess.

How on earth did you break 2 of them in such a short time?

First one (sway bar link) broken from the factory, warranty replaced by Diamond Dodge, they don't know about the clicky wrench in the big red cabinet, nut fell off and it reamed out the mounting ear, they locktighted a new non impinging nut on it which loosened on the first 50 miles of dirt and broke again. Those darn channel locks can do anything can't they:rolleyes:

Now they tell me the axle housing needs to be replaced because there is no shoulder in the hole in the ear on the housing for the stem to tighten against.

hmmm, works fine without the roll bar attached, I'm certainly not going to let them touch my truck 3 weeks before a 15K trip, right.

Symptom of a loose one, a knocking sound on rough roads, can be felt through the steering wheel, no adverse affect on handling.

Spacers Spacers Spacers

You guys make it seem like we should be sent to jail for putting a 2 inch spacer in a coil spring!! I cannot imagine any dealer voiding any problem because of spacers, when I put mine in the alignment did not even change!!putting spacers in is like putting gas in ,we all do it and proud of it!!Great news Duck,I have been on the edge of my seat here all week!!
