Competition Little late but SCHEID ROLL CALL!!!

Not sure if I have ever seen this topic come up and I searched a bit and found nothing.

Just wondering what you guys think of front end travel or there lack there of for pulling? I am just putting the finishing touches on my pull truck and decieded to do a double check on the rules and ours state that you can use limiting straps for the suspension. Anyone else run them to keep the front end low and add the weight of the front axles/tires to what the sled is trying to pull up by leverage?

On my truck I have a bit of suspension travel but could really use the straps to pull down the front end seeing its a little taller than I really wanted.

Anyone have any opinions on this or ideas? Just weighed the truck today and its 7340lbs which gives me 660lbs to hang out front and would have liked to have seen more but it is a crew-cab dually. Figured strapping the axle to the fame would maybe help out or would that lead to some bounce?

You don't want to limit the front travel, just the rear. If you limit the front travel and you get any bounce, the front will hit the stops and alleviate the problem. If you want the front lower, and not remove any lift, figure out a way to remove weight elsewhere on the truck(toolboxs, speakerboxes, spare tire, tailgate, fifthwheel hitch) Then replace that weight up front on your weight bar. Use the weights to lower your front, not a limiting strap, you'll do better that way.

Let the front float, add all your wieght up front as mentioned and make sure your not bottomed out or sitting on the bump stops. IMO you want the front to lift somewhat to unload it enough to get the tires spining.
