I said awhile back that my 92 was going to Cummins Southwest to fix the leak comming from the front gear cover. Today, CSW start working on it and they discovered that the front gear housing had a crack clear through. Previousally they thought that it might be the front cover leaking but no such luck.
I talked to the shop forman about the cause and he said that it was a DOWEL PIN that worked loose and fell to the bottom and got caught by a gear and put a hole in the gear housing. He said when they put in the new housing in they would lock- tite the dowel pin in. Hope this works.
Be couple of days before it is out of the shop also I will be a couple grand lighter when it gets out.
Watch those pins.
