I am think about a front hitch to carry a bike rack. I know about the Bodiak and how it mounts to the hooks. I see hidden hitch and curt also make a front hitch for and 06. I would like to know if anybody has a picture of one of the hidden hitch or curt hitches on there 06. The reason is I would like to know how low they are. Do they come out below the plastic on the bottom of the bumper? I have not been able to find pictures of them on a dodge. Thanks

I have an 03 4x4 with stock suspension and 33" tires and I think it sits too low. I measured it and it is exactly 12" from the botton of the reciever to the ground. I mainly use mine for a winch which is why I think it is too low. Maybe after I lift the truck it would be ok. I will try to post a pic. I hope this post helps. Other than the fact that it is low I have had no problems with it.

Mine is 2 wheel drive and it would be even lower and then with a rack out there seems like a problem. the Bodiak is to high can't see over the bikes. not sure what to do with the bikes.

Maybe you can have a piece welded up so that it would raise the bike holder up. Either way this thing was not cheap so it looks like it is going to get pricey. imo.

They make one for a ford the goes behind the licence plate. pretty cool it is truly hidden. cant find for the dodge.

Just going to put a receiver on the back of my trailer. Maybe get a bodaik just in case. Thanks for the replys

I had one made for the front of my '91 F250. The mtb tires blocked a lot of the light from the headlights. I really didn't like it at night. Now, my high end road bike rides clamped to a fork mount in the bed of the truck under the shell. That's why I like bumper pull travel trailers.

I found one, I think it was the Warn version that goes through the lower plastic spoiler and therefore is about 3 inches higher. I did not get that one because I didn't need it. I went with hidden hitch and like it for my purposes.

I've got the square receiver part of the bumper. If you are thinking about replacing the bumper consider this as part of the upgrade.

I back trailers down my driveway using the front hitch at our lake house as its impossible to turn around at the bottom of the driveway with a trailer and backing down is not an option (800+ ft winding driveway with many trees).

Modified Hidden Hitch

I have a front hidden hitch on my 04. 5. The same hitch should fit all G3s. I had my local 4x4 shop, Fly-n-hi, modify the hitch so the receiver goes through the air dam, not below it. Basically, they cut the welds on the cross bar and turned it over. You can just see that the word "Hidden" is upside down. An added benefit of this modification is that you get great protection for the cooler stack and transmission lines. The approach angle benefits too.
