Tire Shop Guy Said One Of My Front Hub Bearings Is Going South Not Out Yet But Headed There. My Question Is How Many On Here Have Used The Hubs From Quad 4x4 ? Are They Better Than Going Through Dodge ? I Noticed Little Price Difference. Also Is There A Good Replacement For The Control Arm Bushings ? Not Wanting To Replace The Entire Arm But What Do The Kore Arms Ive Read About Cost? This Is On A 01 2500 4x4 Qaud Cab. Not Sure Why My Truck Info Doesnt Show Up When I Post. Thanks Adam

I installed a front bearing on my 97 with one from quad4x4. It worked better for me because I bought the kit for the install since it was my first one I had installed. I am not sure if they are better than others, but they aren't worse.

Do a search on control arm bushings. I think some people on here have replaced them. As far as control arms dt pro fab makes a set too. Someone else will have to inform you on the Kore components, or you could contact them and ask the questions yourself.

Did The Kit Make Them Easier To Get Off Ive Heard They Can Be A Bear To Get The Old Ones Off ? Also Would I Need The One With The The Abs Stuff Alread On It ? Thanks Adam

Adam,

The hub/bearing assembly is a Timken part number HA590203. I just changed out the axle shaft seals last month so I've been there taking off the hub/bearing assemblies. Mine came off in one piece, others have reported them coming apart when they are removed. I wrote up the procedure I went throught to change out the seals, if you would like a copy I can post a link to it.

Post away n7gxz.

I have been having a hard time getting the axle nut off also. Anyone have any recommendations for that?

Here's the link to my Front Seal Replacement Doc . It is in MSWord and is about 850K in size.

There is a picture of how I got the front axle nuts off. Not all that difficult. :-laf

I replaced my front hub bearings last weekend, with help from another thread on this subject. I used the method of putting a socket/extension on the four hub bolts and using the power steering as a press to push them out. Mine were severely rusted at 148k miles so even with the steering pressure, I still had to whang on them with a 2 lb sledge to coax them out. My axle nut was a booger too but the breaker bar with a 2 foot cheater extension did the trick.

I coated it all with anti-seize going back together. Hopefully in another five years this goes a lot easier.

Does Anyone Know The Napa Or Advance Part Number On The Front Axle U-joints On A 01 4x4 2500 Diesel ??????? Thanks Adam

NAPAOnline shows two different part numbers available, a PUJ374 and a NUJ2100332 .

They list the PUJ374 as a wheel joint and the NUJ2100332 as a standard joint. I'm thinking that it would be the PUJ374.
