Day late and a dollar short, but dodge has a 7yr, 70,000 mile powertrain warranty-so they are going to do it for me free of charge. Thanks

Chances are they'll remove the front axles to change the joints. That means removing the front hub/bearings. High probability of destroying them upon removal. Either way, you might seriously consider removing them when you get the truck back and coating them liberally with anti-seize. You'll thank yourself later.

Better yet, ask them to have the tech (better, better, ask the tech yourself) to apply the anti-sieze. I just had my left front done and the tech did it all on his own. Of course, he'd just spent 1-1/2 hrs. with an air hammer getting things apart just to get to the job. (I know he took a beating on the book hours on the job and managed to get a handsome tip to him in a discreet way. ) In my case, everything that had to be destroyed to get it apart was covered under the warranty. I'm pleased. :D

Even though they are "held" in by clips and plastic, they are a pressed fit. They don't just fall out when the clips are removed.
