Was looking to balance the truck out it always looks like it is going down a hill. I wanted a 2" lift for the front seems everyone has
either a 2.5 or 3" . Found Procomp #61120 kit called them and the said it will NOT fit . What do they know they only make it. Going to install it later today and scrap the shock extenders. Putting a new set of 5100 Bilstein's on it. Will see how it works out.

Well you should have gotten the factory rear air ride. Why do you have a Dually? I assume to tow something? If so when you add the load you will be shining the headlights in the sky. Of course you can add air bags and then have a rough ride.

Since you tow heavy a lot, do you think you will like a leveling kit? Maybe your past trucks have had them and all is well?

Nick

For how much I tow with it , Not a lot. I would say it is my daily driver. I tow the flatbed or the dump trailer if best maybe 2 hrs a month. I just like the safety of being the bigger vehicle that the average vehicle out there. I got hit in Pliladelphia a few months back with my GMC 3500 Denali DRW. It was some as# on drugs hit the two cars aside of me and the right rear of my truck. He dented the bumper and right rear fender and totaled the other two cars and totaled his. He was going to make three lanes out of two. He got out of his car and could not even stand. The PA state police came and handcuffed him and away he went.

I've got a set of 2"- or maybe 2-1/2" spacers I would have given you for the cost of shipping. I pulled them off my truck the first week I bought it.

Maybe I should throw them up on the pay it forward section.

It rides the same no difference with the lift in the front.
The next problem I see is the running boards, the one on the drivers side is 1" forward of the one on the passenger side. I never noticed it till I put the front mud flaps on. The drivers side flap hits the front of the board and the passengers side has 1 1/2" clearance.

My truck has a 2" front lift on it put on by the original owner. I wish it didn't have it and am contemplating taking it off. For towing it sucks and trucks should look like they are going down hill when empty so they look level when loaded. I think it makes the front end feel "light". Just my 2 cents :)

With the factory rear air this is what the trucks look like with or without a load. Sons truck with 2" front lift. I believe it is in regular ride mode.

Yea looking at some kits for 265/70/20 alco Seems no one had longer studs for two aluminum rims on the rear.

Keep in mind the machined surface on the hub, for the wheel center support, has enough width for two thick wheels.

Does anyone know if the RAM 3500 Dually wheels will fit a Dexter 12000# axle? I've asked a dozen people, and have not yet received a definitive answer. I kniw that the Dexter 12K takes a 4.75 Hub piloted wheel, and our 3500 dually wheel bore are just a thousanths larger than 4.75, but I haven't looked to see if the lug-nuts are tapered or not, which I think, would indicate a stud piloted wheel.. Can anyone enlighten an old guy ?

Hi Bob,

Greg and I both answered your question on this thread: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/threads/258637-New-here-a-few-questions-about-a-new-3500-DRW/page3

I am sure they are both hub piloted with an 8 on 6.5 bolt pattern. With a 4.75 v/s 4.78 I am sure they won't interchange.

Nick

O-Kay, now I know for darned sure why the RAM 3500 wheels won't fit the Dexter 12K axles.. It is so simple, I shoulda thunk of it a lot sooner...The Dexter 12K axle uses a .625" wheel lug bolt and the RAM 3500 uses a .55118110236" or 14 MM lug... Now I know... I'm not sure just what will happen when I take one of my RAM 3500 wheels to my favorite machinist and ask him to bore out the RAM wheel lug holes to .625"...??? We will see....

By the way, my RAM sales guru told me that the 3500 wheels are "Stud Piloted" for what that's worth.. I have NOT confirmed that with anyone else...
