I just got rid of some more incandesent lights on the truck. :D

The front parking/turn signals. I have never been to happy with the location or how hard they are to see by on coming motorists. So I cured that problem.

The first pic is a stock turn signal assy.

The second pic is a modded housing assy. That is a high count LED yellow tail/turn light installed

The third pic is another view of the housing from the back side. I used a clear epoxy to seal the light in the housing.

The 1st pic is showing the difference in amount of light in the parking light mode.

The second pic is showing both lights in turn mode. Now on the pic you couldn't see much difference. But I think it was just the camera not getting the difference. There is quite a difference when looking at them.

I used a dremel to cut the plastic housing. I made the cut long also. Then I used a belt sander with a fine grit paper to level the housing and clean up the dremel cuts.

Time to do this was about 1 hour for each side.

BTW new light housings are still in stock. If anyone needs the numbers for then I can post them in a day or so. Price is around $30. each. I have two news ones setting waiting to be picked up. :D

Now I am down to the roof marker lights and the dash lights. The roof lights will be gone on the cab swap and I think the dash lights are not worth the effort. :-laf

I've looked at doing the same thing, but you can now buy bulb replacements that actually work. They're about $20 each, direct fit and noticeably brighter as well as all the other LED advantages. Saves the cutting and gluing.

I have replaced the side and tailgate marker lights with exact fit LEDs and am very pleased with the light output. I am going to do the cab clearance and dash lights, because unlike Philip I have no life and plenty of time to spare. :-laf

KOG, the link did not work for the LED bulbs. Can you send us a good link? I'd like to change my bulbs to LED's too.

Thanks in Advance, Patrick
