When using the wear sleeve with a new seal do you put the seal on the sleeve, then press both of them together onto the shaft and into the housing?? That is way I was told to do the rear seal on our tractors with 6BT's in them???. . Thank you, Marc
I recently put a wear sleeve on mine. I pressed the wear sleeve on using the steering damper as a press, tightening the bolts till the damper was flush with the crank. I took my timing case cover to a Cummins dealership and had a tech press the seal into the cover. Then just bolted to cover right up, pressing the seal that was installed into the cover over the wear sleeve.
