I am trying to find a factory drivers seat cushion cover for my 2007.5. The part number is 1FM411J3AA. According to the local dealers this cover is discontinued. Does anyone know a way to search for a dealer somewhere in the US that may have this cover? Or know a place to find it?

Opps I didn't see the word cover I only saw the word cushion sorry bout that. Ask around at the dealerships for who they use locally to replace the cloth covers with leather on new vehicles. The dealers around here all use the same guy and he usually has sets of OEM covers. I see you are in Jacksonville I will try to get you a number of a local guy that does it here.

I just went through this exact thing with my 2005 drivers seat. I needed a new seat back cover, but they were discontinued. My local stealership said they are no longer available, but said there was one dealership that actually had one in stock. I called them and three days later I had a new seat back cover at my house. The sad thing is this: there are a probably quite a few of them around in various distribution warehouses just sitting there, but since Dodge has labeled them as "discontinued" they can't release them anymore. I wanted a new bottom seat cover too and the local dealership said there some in a distribution warehouse, but could no longer bring them in since they're labeled as discontinued now. Pure crap!!!

Boaring 1961,

Try a different dealer that is willing to request that the Material Planner change the status of that part to active long enough for it to be ordered, picked and shipped.
I do this all of the time with Freightliner.

What happens is that a dealer returns some old stock OR goes out of business and returns stock.

If the part number has been labeled inactive by a Material Planner before the return gets processed the following scenario takes place once the returned item arrives at the PDC...a credit for that part is generated to the returning dealer which places it in the PDC inventory and is then visible as an on hand item.

It will sit in the distribution center showing on hand but inactive and as a result your dealer can't order it without some intervention. Like Catch-22 kinda'

You've nothing to lose by asking.

In the Freightliner system it is referred to as a "Material Load Request".....I think that the Chrysler PDC's run software very similar to ours, the Picking Tags look identical.

Here is a typical response from our Material Planners when this arises....takes about a day....maybe Chrysler is not so helpful but it is to their advantage to sell that part and help a customer. Freightliner is really good about that sort of thing.

Geno's has the seat CUSHIONS that fit our trucks. Just put one in and it works fine. They sourced from another place. You have to do a little trimming but very minimal.

Crunch,

Look closer, I just checked the first three and all state that the part is "No longer available" or "Discontinued"....I've been fooled by that before so I really look at the results now.

D'oh! I guess I could have actually clicked on one of the links.

Just find an upholstery shop and have them recover the seat. You will need a new cushion so plan on one of them. After 10 years the foam just starts falling apart and degrading. I had my whole drivers seat recovered with very close matching material and all new foam put in for less than $500, can't buy a decent seat for that.
