2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Front Seat Repair or Replace?

I'm trying to locate a seat cover replacement for my Ram 2500 1996 electric drivers=side seat. Dodge wants 450. 00 just for the lower. I hope it can close to the original fabric style and color.

Upholstery shop can redo it a lot cheaper than that, my drivers seat edge is worn and they will replace just that panel for $60. 00

The price quoted is for the whole seat bottom, foam, spring assy. and skin. Dodge sells only the skin, and you can install it in about 1/2 an hour.

Any idea how much the seat cover would cost? I just got in the truck today with a screwdriver in my pocket and ripped my driver's seat. I am always cautious but got sidetracked this time.

I think the Katzkin packages for our trucks front and rear seats for a quad cab are about $625-750 depending on options and leather type.

For that kind of money you can get a full fledged air ride seat. Much more comfort anf gaurenteed 7 years or 1 million miles.

The price for the Katzkins is for the whole interior; console, door inserts, etc. etc. I have them in my standard cab and they are very high quality. I put seat heaters in at the same time and I am very happy with the entire upgrade. They stay clean alot better than cloth.



You wont find two air ride seats that match the rest of your interior for the same money. Seat comfort is relative. Some fit the Dodge seats nicely others do not. Ever check out the range of sizes at the furniture stores... one size doesn't fit all. I decided to redo my stock seats because they fit me very comfortably.

Why do you need all those "bells and whistles" on your Ram???
