I have a 2001 ETH 3500 sport and will be putting a plow on. The Plow is 1000lbs. Since the plow prep package is not available on the sports I'll be uping the load range on the front end.
The tags on both of my existing springs said 46 on them. Does anyone Know the rating on these springs? I weighed the truck stock, and it was already 4600lbs.
When I went to get firestone air bags they said there is nothing for the 2001 rams since the shock is already inside the spring. So the only option now is installing a heavier spring. I found an upgrade spring but the rating in around 6500lbs. This would be the answer but 98% of the time there will be no plow on and I think the ride may get extremly rough with a spring like this.
What can be done or are my stock springs passable, I wouldn't mind getting the front lifted a few inches in the process?
Any input on this topic would be apreciated.
Thank You
