I have a 96, 4x4, okay, which way does my sway bar mount? I have seen pictures of a 98 and noticed the sway bar is a little different, the ball joint is now on the frame of the truck and the bolt goes through the sway bar, my sway bar the ball joint is on the bar and the bolt goes through the frame of the truck, :)eek: confused yet?), anyway, I noticed on the 98 the sway bar "bolt" is on top of the mount, my bar had the bolt on the bottom of the mount pointing up, which is correct? I had alot of trouble with my Lukes Link hitting the sway bar mount on the passenger side, this could have been the reason, I flipped it over tonight and am going to run it like that for a test drive. Does it make a difference which way it mounts? Thanks guys!

Your mount (if it's like mine) is different from the '98. The bar, end brackets and links are all different.

Yours is mounted correctly, nut on top of the bracket sticking up from the axle. The first time I saw this arrangement, I rolled my eyes, fortunately the rest of the truck isn't as cobbled as this. I frequently curse the soul of the non-mechanical co-op that had this for a project!

Oh oh, I guess I have it upside down, does it make that much of a difference which way it goes? I thought I heard of some people taking it off completely?
