don't laugh

cummins does make engines that take spark plugs they are most often found on gen sets and run on LP and the ones I have seen are painted green (ONAN) NO SHOT!

Maybe I'm just lucky, but my original track bar is still ok after over 150,000 miles. What is the deal with these things? Are you calling they shot after they develop . 01 mm of play? If someone gets in and turns the wheel one way then the other, I can just BEARLY see some play. Is mine bad? My steering is still good 'n tight.

Many of the older second gen trucks seem to have avoided the steering problems. I'm guessing that suppliers were changed somewhere, sometime, and the quality took a nosedive. My 2001 has worse steering than a Intrepid with a locked up CV joint. :D

Here is a link that I thought many would be interested in. I have been trying to do some research on the track bar and found this. I have the Moog track bar on my 2000 and have found it to be too short. The axle seems to be shifted to the left by 1 to 2 inches and the steering wheel was turned about 3/8 of a turn to the left. I wonder if they have had a track bar change since the 98 model year. I talked to my dealer parts man( great resource) and he told me that it is impossible to tell using the Dodge parts look-up. He said they put a different part number with each year even if they do not change the part.

Unobtanium!

My early '94 has a smaller ball on the end compared to the later years. The biggest problem was that they used a PLASTIC bearing surface. The second biggest problem was that they used a coil spring to preload. DUH!!

The guy that owns the alignment shop that does my work told me about the track bar. I checked with the parts house and they told me they weren't aware of the lifetime warranty. I then called MOOG and they told me it is only valid on trucks 6000# gvw and LESS.

Shooter

I ordered Moog DS1413 last thursday. Final cost after shipping was $152. 93. I has to hunt around for the track bar listing. I think I found it under chassis parts. Hope it arrives and is in fact the Moog part. No one seems to have dealt with Rock Auto or at least haven't responded to my post.
