tcb sent me some good pics of his and he was able to retain the hooks with the Warn. I think that's the route I'm going to take.

Picture of Warn front receiver

Attached I hope you find a picture of tcb's Warn front receiver. Note that he still has his tow hooks. He did say the install was difficult. I heard here (perhaps on another thread) that you can turn over the front license plate holder. This may give enough room for the front receiver to fit under the license plate.

From what I've heard the biggest challenge is getting the bumper off. I took mine off to pop out a dent. I had to unbolt the intercooler to get clearance to slide the bolts out but beyond that its not too bad. I'll probably pick one up next week.

hey bill thanks for the help. flipping the license plate over did not work well, looked upside down and funky. trimming around the base and reinstalling correctly hides the mount. otherwise it kind of looks lost in space. my opinion. by the way. getting bumper off was easy, getting back on was the hard part s ther are some extra shims that go in, and yes you do have to loosen the intercooler.

Good news from Warn

Here is confirmation from Warn on the front tow hooks and P/N.

From: McEwen Mike <MM890@Warn.com>

Bill,

The tow hooks can be used on the front receiver for that application. The note on the header was placed before we came t with the 65370 kit and should have been changed when it was released.

Comments:

The Warn web site specifies P/N 65370 as a front receiver for a 2003, Dodge Ram, HD 3500. It also says you have to loose the front tow hooks for the installation. Hmmm? I know someone who just installed one of these front receivers for his winch in carrier. He says he left the tow hooks in place and they had nothing to go with the install?? He even sent me pictures. I want to

keep my tow hooks too. Can you confirm for me that this is possible?? I already have my winch in a carrier. I kept it when I sold the old truck.

Thanks in advance for clarification.

I went to etrailer.com clicked on front receiver hitches, plugged in 2003 Dodge Ram pickup and they have one for $99. No drilling required.

BEWARE, the front of the 1500's and the 2500/3500 are different. If this part # show up for the 2002 Dodge then it may not be the "correct" one for us. . Take a look at the front rails on a 1500 and compare. Different mounting required. Same for Brush guards.

SOTSU!!

EDIT: went to the site and it lists it for the 1500 (checked the 02/03 list and its the same part #)

Checking P/N

Ben,

Thanks for the heads up on the part number. I have sent a follow-up email to Warn asking them to confirm the correct p/n for a 2500/3500 2003 Dodge Ram. I'll let you all know if I get a response.

Ben, one of these days you'll have to explain that signature. I see it every day and for the life of me I haven't been able to decode it.

Not etrailer

I checked the etrailer.com site. The only thing they offer is the hidden hitch and hidden hitch doesn't offer one for the HD Rams.

Warn is the only mfg that does so far. I checked on the Warn P/N. It's a little confusing.

P/N 65370 is for the 2500/3500 '03 Ram.

P/N 63570 is for the 2002/2003 1500 Ram. Notice the only difference in the two numbers is the order of the numbers. Be careful when ordering.
