I had the recent misfortune of having a tree branch get wedged between the radiator and the front bumper while off-road. The result was the front valance (the grey plastic beneath the chrome front bumper) being separated and breaking several of the small white plastic clips that hold the valance on. My options are to either find replacement clips and a way to glue them back on to the grey valance or to replace the whole valance. I'm looking for ideas or sources on where to get the clips and how to glue them on. The originals appear to be melted on somehow.

I would try to secure it somehow. Maybe some double sided 3M tape between the bumper & Facia were the clips are busted off?

I tired to paint my lower Fascia (Dodge calls it this) body color at one time. Didn't come out well ended up getting a new one from the dealer. Under 50 bucks if I remember right. They just snap in.

Oh yea , You'll need 2 plastic rivets to attach the lower facia to the upper facia.

LarryD,

I've had a couple of those clips break off, too. I have not found any glue that will work with that plastic - at least none available in any retail store. I've even tried plastic 'welding' using p-tex candles, the kind used to repair gouges in the base of snow skis. No cigar.

I've gone to using small button-head hex-key machine screws with nuts on the back to screw them on. Paint them grey to match. I figured when enough break off, I'll replace the whole piece.

On the other hand, if they can be had for under $50, go for it. I figured they be 5 or 6 times that.

The clips you are referring to come only on a new fascia. Some rtv or other kind of gasket sealant with a few clamps to hold in place while it dries would most likely work. Chrome is such a smooth surface it's hard to get anything to stick to it though.

A dealer will have the clips. Shouldn't be more than $1. 00 a piece.

Try some actone. Put a little on where you want the clip and stick clip on and hold for a minuet. The actone will melt the plastic and it will fuse togsather.

The front valance uses no clips to hold it in place. There are tabs on the valance which snap into rectangular holes on the bumper face bar. These tabs or clips are Not Available as a separate part.
