Yup, just got it out of the alignment shop after installing a new Track bar. Things were looking up. Still plan on the DSS Stabilizer, infact I just e-mailed him a couple days ago so I can order the part. Then, as fate would have it, a girl teenybopper, who was stopped at a stop sign, just pulled out into me
She says she "didn't see me". It was a T intersection and I was going from her left to right. She was making a left turn. As soon as she started pulling out I knew nothing could be done. I was in total disbelief. She hit my passenger side rear door and door jamb at the back of the cab. Then she evidently went under the truck, because I don't recall any damage to the truck bed. Then the fun began. When I looked at the truck, the first thing I noticed was the driveline laying on the ground. The pass. side rear wheel is shoved to the back of the fender well and up into the exhaust. Those heavy duty springs for the trailer towing package and over load springs for the camper package. . . sheared off at the mounts. . . both ends. The left side faired slightly better, though I could see the top of the shock mount poking up just under the bed with about an inch clearance. Her Nissan Maxima, late 80's early 90's model was
shall we say. . . heavily dented??? About 2 feet of the right front corner is just, well, just kinda' gone. I think it is safe to assume that her car is totaled. I'm happy nobody was hurt. The Sheriffs Deputy says this is a no brainer, and gave the girl her roadside rules-of-the-road seminar and graduation certificate. She seemed a bit surprised. First it's "I'm so sorry, it's all my fault!" to, "Why am I getting a ticket?"
I think someone confused "the innocence of youth" with total brainless stupidity. She just left the scene before making arrangements for her car! One of the folks that stopped offered her a ride home and she just left. No sense of responsibility. The Deputy was dumbfounded.
Well that's pretty much how my day went. The Newf Limo (Jake) will be in the shop for awhile. Glad she had insurance!
