I have new coil springs for my 2 wheel dr. 3500. I would like to install coil spring spacers to lift the front end, has anyone tried these?

Yeah I've got the ones from Daystar and I wouldn' do it again,it has a harsh ride and it also puts the ball joints at a bad angle and I've also lost some turning radius for some reason.

Please explain... I don't understand how any of this was caused by the spacers. I ran a set of Daystars on my other truck and I liked them just fine. I had no problems and the ride didn't change one bit. The only time I ever saw a difference in the ride quality was when I ran the Skyjacker 2. 5" coils, they greatly improved the ride.

Mines a 2wd and the 2" spacers give it a very bouncy ride and will over extend the shocks on certain driveway entrances, speed bumps ect. I can't explain the turning radius but it is not as tight as it was before. On the other hand the trucks ride height looks alot better than the nose down it was before.

I have the steel type from Jack-It and even made additional spacers 1/2" thick to get the '01 level. I probably would have used skyjacker 3. 0 springs but I didn't want to risk losing the deluxe plow package ride.

caw440 Have you noticed any wander in the front end, I'm not to concerned about the harshness of the ride, and did it change anything with the alignment?

I had to have it realigned immediately, it was way out. As far as the wander,my 94 and this 01 both wandered, but I don't think its any worse with the 2" lift than it was before. Also just for thought it only took about 1 hr. to install it so if you don't like it its not a bad job to take back off except for another alignment.

On my 96, 2500, 2WD I have 2. 5" DayStar spacers, FabTech upper control arms and FabTech 3-stage adjustable shocks. On 2WD IFS it becomes a problem if you use a spacer bigger than 1. 5", the stock shocks become all most fully extended and the ball joints end-up in a bad angle which in turn gives you a real hard bumpy ride. 1. 5" spacers will level the truck, you actually get about a 2. 5" lift out of the spacers. With my combo I now have 3. 75" of lift and no problems with getting it align. My bigger wheels, 18X9. 5 with the same back space as stock, did make it wonder just a little bit, with the stock wheels it goes straight. The ride feels the same as stock when the shocks are set to #2 stage, but to hard on #3 stage, have not tried #1 stage but will soon. Handling wise its the same with the stock wheels and tire size but with my my bigger and wider wheel and tire combo it handles great, specially when going around tight turns.
