I want to raise the front of my truck it seems that over the years its beginning to look front heavy, I would love to replace the springs for stiffer ones but I have the # 47 or 48 from the factory thats what I ordered at the time. Are there any that are stiffer I don't want to raise the truck to much because I don't want to change out the bilstiens? If I went with 2" spacers would I have to change out the shocks? Also I have heard about the d25s are they stiffer than the ones that I have, for the reason that I plow during the winter. Thanks, Gregg

Just did the 2" spacers on mine, original shocks work fine, leveled the truck out great. I like the steel spacers there are a couple of different kinds.

pss steering

Has anyone installed a PSS quick ratio steering box,and how does it drive? Also does it eliminate the little bit of play like a 1/4 in the steering wheel that these trucks typically have? Dealer replaced my box at 25000 miles and the new box still has that little bit of play in it, and just for the record everything was replaced in the front end and there have been 2 new steering shafts, still that little play. My borothers 04. 5 is as tight at a drum absolutly no play, and when I spoke to Chusk at PSS about this he said that there is always a little play in his boxs and recommened that I put a 3rd gen box on a 2nd gen. I told him it was not possible he said it would bolt right on. What are yours thoughts? Thanks, Gregg

Personally I have seen more failures on the 3rd gen boxes than the 2nd. The 3rd gens drive nicer but it is a lot more than a steering gear change. The track bar can be replaced w/a 3rd gen. There is a stabilizer that will help support the gear itself, better springs shocks... ... ... . on and on

Gregg, the spacers are made by Tuff Country they were the only ones I found steel, these trucks are very heavy in the front is why I like them, Mark

sorry Bob I was supposed to start a new thread, but while i got your attention what kind of problems are they having, also I have the dss steering brace on my truck. The play that I am talking about is play in the box itself ,if you turn the input shaft a little such as a 1/4" the pitman shaft does not move, thats the play I'm talking about and thats what translates into sloppy steering, this is driving me crazy if I could eliminate this play the truck would drive like a dream. ;)

how can I start a new tread with the pss steering? I screwed up I hit reply to thread instead of starting a new thread. :-laf :-laf
