Hi everyone... .
The Yukon winter got me !!!
After a week of 40C below, I neglected to knock the ice out of my 99's breather tube. I was less than delighted to go out to the driveway & see a shower of oil spraying the ground under my baby !! I guess the back pressure in the block blew the push-rod cover seal.
I have unplugged the breather tube & am running the truck still ( after adding 2. 5 liters of oil ) but it is still leaking from the seal. Not a lot, but enough to make me nervous. (about 1/8 cup an hour of running)
I have the new seal on order & should have it on Monday. Chrysler wanted $60. 00 CDN for it and Cumins has one coming in at $25CDN.
Anyone know what the difference may be in the seals ?
Has anyone changed this seal before ? Where do I start ? Do I need other seals as well if I have to remove the Pump ?
Thanks
Chris
